Nick Soole, former front-man and songwriter of cult Sydney sci-fi rock band Slimey Things, has in recent times turned toward writing music for film, television and video games.
In late 2011 Nick was invited by film composer Christopher Young (Hellraiser / Spider-Man 3 / The Rum Diary) to be part of the Tilden House Residency Program in Los Angeles. This led to him working with composers Kevin Manthei (Invader Zim / Ultimate Spider-Man) and Garry Schyman (Bioshock / The A-Team) on various projects.
"I wanted my remix to be an unexpected take on a Serious Beak composition (that's what they are - great compositions, not just great songs) and one that was close to my own heart. I've always loved film and orchestral music and the track 'Gödel !Xun' seemed to lend itself to being expanded upon in a cinematic, orchestral kind of way." - Nick Soole.

This basically feels like traditional Middle Eastern music except amped up and distorted. The performances are insanely tight, and I'd really like to highlight the drumming on here - it's absolutely incredible. The drummer adapts tradition and aggression into something that not only manages to keep up with the guitar/bouzouki but pushes the envelope in its own right. Smekermann
